Painless Perspective

That was the title of today's drawing class. It was almost true. We learned some neat tricks to figure angles, and got tips on laying a sketch out quickly, working from a variety of photographs. The church on the left is a nightmare; I tried to remember to block out basic shapes, but how can something be a cone and a rectangle at the same time? At first I resisted the triangles at the top right; it was definitely an exercise in Not Drawing Every Little Thing You See. I think my favorite sketch is at bottom right, especially that uneven negative shape of blue sky. I'm learning a lot in this class! Two and a half hours goes by way too quickly.
