So close! I didn’t win the sunflower growing competition that I’ve been taking part in this summer in memory of a very special young man, but I did come second. So I’ll take pride in being runner-up. The winning flower measured 325 cm, just a whisker taller than mine at 320 cm. Now hoping for some more sunshine to ripen the seeds in the flower heads, so we can do it all again next year ...
