Compton Lock

Ingeborg set an abstract challenge of "motion", and I immediately thought of intentional camera movement (ICM) or fast flowing water.  So with that in mind, my customary Thursday evening walk after escaping the office took me to the River Itchen with its navigations at Compton Lock.

The lock is no longer operational, and its lock mechanisms are no more, but the water still rushes through an opening with around a 18in drop into a pool which now provides access to the water for wild swimmers and dogs.

This is a view across the pool, with ICM which has enhanced the water currents and the golden colours and reflections of the late afternoon sun.
