Dickhead

As a teenager, I read every book Philip K. Dick ever wrote. No, I didn't get out much. In light of the situation in the United States, this is the Dick novel that I have been most keen to read again. A tale set in the fascist Pacific States of America, ruled by Germany and Japan after their victory in World War II.

I wonder if Phil would have been surprised to see that the United States wouldn't need Germany and Japan to impose fascism upon the nation, and that a large number of her citizens would actually vote for it? Probably not.

Interesting that "fake" is a frequent leit motif in this book which is the source of my journal's title.
