Our water tower

This is one of the more important and impressive landmarks in my hometown, the 1897 water tower. At 50 meters high with a reservoir of 1000m2, it isn’t exactly ‘small’.

During the 2nd world war the Germans used it as a watch tower and the bastards tried to blow it up at the end of the war. Luckily they didn’t succeed, but a major restauration was required and completed in 1947. It was decommissioned in 2007, but is still owned by the town’s waterworks and can be visited on appointment.
