Raindrop on cotoneaster

I've a lot of plants and bulbs to put in my new garden. It all looks very nice soil until you start to dig - it's full of stones and bits of rubble of various sizes. Considering the vast amount in the skip when the garden  was being constructed it's amazing that there's so much left.  The original soil was good but all these stones must have been a long way down below planting depth and under the old patio.

F and I filled the wheelie bin with them at the weekend but that was only the tip of the iceberg. I did a section of one of the flowerbeds today and did a bit of planting but it will be a long job to clear it all.

It's been raining this afternoon making the cotoneaster look even prettier.
