Alongside the cruise boats life goes on as normal. The land nearest the bank is the most fertile with sugar cane and other crops being harvested by hand. Boats carry the cane to market. Fishing boats throw their nets and then beat the water with long poles. Cattle, donkeys and goats graze right down to the edge. It's all so tranquil.
