Kneipp Cure

As I had forgotten something in Ottobeuren yesterday and as it was wet & windy, we did our walk in the Bannwald a mixture of 2 routes, probably about 4.5 km and a good hour. Angie calls it the "Dog Newspaper" walk as it is the very popular for dog walkers and Flash catches up on the latest news with wonderful smells all over the place.
I thought we would remain fairly dry as the forest is mainly beech but forgot it's nearly December and the trees are somewhat naked! Were able to do 95% of the walk without lead as nobody else was fool enough to be out.
The walks have several small attractions/info points. This photo was taken at a "Kneipp Tretanlage". Sebastian Kneipp was born just outside Ottobeuren & is particularly noted for his hydrotherapy treatment but generally with natural medicine. His legacy is a very important economical factor in the region.
Not today but in summer, one takes off shoes & socks, roll up the trousers and walk around the handrail with legs up to the knees in very cold water.
