Wrong Direction

7:45pm - Picked Dad up from the University
8:00pm - Ate dinner together
9:00pm - Dropped Dad off at the University
9:01pm - Saw this tree, parked the car and got out to investigate

Yesterday, today, and through the weekend, we have been experiencing a "Pineapple Express" storm. I had no idea what that was until the newspaper weather guy explained it was a warm, wet storm from Hawaii. Okay, sure, whatever.

Well, this pineapple train has brought a lot of wind with it and is causing some havoc. This large pine tree seemed strong and beautiful in front of one of the university buildings yesterday. I found it propped up on another tree, laying almost horizontal over the walkway. By now it is firewood. Luckily it didn't fall on the building or any people.

In my investigation...or curiosity, however you want to put it, you could see the roots of the tree had been cut on one side to put in a cement garden border around the building. Just by looking at it, the tree looked fine, but under ground, it was struggling. Then after a stressful storm, it just couldn't take it any more and cracked. Hmmm, sounds like life sometimes.
