From a Railway Carriage.....
Faster than fairies, faster than witches,
Bridges and houses, hedges and ditches;
And charging along like troops in a battle
All through the meadows the horses and cattle:
All of the sights of the hill and the plain
Fly as thick as driving rain;
And ever again, in the wink of an eye,
Painted stations whistle by.
Here is a child who clambers and scrambles,
All by himself and gathering brambles;
Here is a tramp who stands and gazes;
And here is the green for stringing the daisies!
Here is a cart runaway in the road
Lumping along with man and load;
And here is a mill, and there is a river:
Each a glimpse and gone forever!

A wee day trip to Edinburgh today - meeting up with Christine who was the very first person I met in halls of residence many years ago when I was a shy "Fresher" - Good God, 26 years ago!!!!
We went on to share a flat and shared many adventures - quite a few involving Chris losing things culminating in trips to Partick Police Station!
She is now a doctor with 4 children, still a bit scatty, still lovely, still Chris - so lovely to spend some time together albeit just a couple of hours.
Took my camera, sneaked in my handbag, got some street photos (one including an Indian Chief in full head dress!) but to be honest, the gorgeous light on the River Forth on the train home stole the day - happy times with a wonderful friend...
Photos through train windows can be dodgy but I think this one worked OK...
