Tebay

Most of the day was spent driving northwards; the journey was happily uneventful, but also almost blip-free until I spotted the last of the sunlight glinting off the plump ducks at Tebay services.

You can see that the fells in the distance are covered with frost, which had probably been there since the previous night. The external temperature that the car was indicating gradually dropped from about 0° C as we crossed the border until in Carlops it was indicating -5° C! It was back up to the relative warmth of zero by the time we got back to Leith.
