Wild weather, a bit of everything going on - this was the scene on the drive home. I was blasted as I leapt out of the car by a strong bitterly cold westerly. I managed to take the children down to the estuary though to look at wading birds, just avoiding a downpour. We even had binoculars and the highlight was a Little Egret being chased by some crows. The schoolyard bird survey started today and enthusiasm is high - the bird feeder is now jam-packed with exciting things going on. Persuading them not to record the same robin everytime he visits (frequently) is tricky. The anticipation is high that a kingfisher might visit.

Tonight's Arthouse film is Beloved (Les bien-aimees) - French, complicated, emotional, Catherine Deneuve.
