Sgwarnog: In the Field

Straits

An early start saw me heading across to Wales for a couple of days. The trains were surprisingly quiet.

I fitted in a small diversion to Bangor for some football on the way to my Mum’s. Bangor City were hosting Guilsfield in a Huws Gray Alliance fixture (Welsh second tier) at Nantporth. It ended in a surprising 2-0 win for the visitors. Nantporth becomes the most westerly of the grounds I've visited.

After the match I made the most of the last light of the day to walk a mile or so along the Wales Coast Path back towards Bangor. This took me down to the shore, where this view along the Menai Straits to Bangor Pier and a group of Great Crested Grebe greeted me.
