The Edge of the Wold

Together again

Gus and Rowan disappear into the mist, Gus trying forlornly as ever to round up his best friend (who as ever is carrying a stick/small log). They don't see each other very often these days since Sue retired two years ago, though Gus does go to stay with them for the occasional weekend if we are away. Perhaps it's just as well, as Gus tries hard to keep up with his younger friend, and he was exhausted by the end of the afternoon.

We had been to Sue's for lunch and a walk to Eggerslack Wood. The weather was beginning to change after several mild days of grey skies and complete stillness. It came on to rain later and the wind began to blow, the high pressure system has shifted at last.

As a follow up to my last posting, thank you for all the sympathy and good wishes for the toothache episode on New Years Day. It has settled down after treatment, and I'm waiting now for a long appointment for the root canal treatment.

Back to work tomorrow after a long break over Christmas and New Year.
