I've been documenting this palm for a while.  One of those little sprouts that has been getting bigger and bigger and is not in the greatest of locations.  Once it gets high enough I expect PG&E (if they still exist by then, I believe they're filing for bankruptcy protection next week) will be out to take it down.  In the meantime folks clip the fronds on the sidewalk side, but not so much on the bike lane side.
