Raven and Salmon

We went out to the Longhouse this morning for the Native American crafts sale. This building is on the campus of Evergreen State University and is there to show respect for the many Indian tribes that have lived in this area for so long. This plaque depicts two iconic creatures in the lore of every Pacific Northwest tribe, Raven and Salmon. Raven stole the Sun from a box and lit the world for humankind, and Salmon is the most prolific food fish and feeds man and many other creatures.
