Zentangling in the Snow

Someone had fun making patterns on the slopes. This is the downhill ski area; our trails circle around to the left. We took the early bus up the mountain and had a full wonderful day skiing and snowshoeing. We didn’t see one other person on the outbound trail—just us and the blue sky, the faint sounds of birds in the tall trees, the crunching of the morning snow. Being here in the snow puts me in touch with my very oldest best and basic self. I’ve skied since I could walk and I feel safe and deeply happy here.

The predicted big storm keeps pushing farther out, although we did see some very dramatic clouds at the end of the day.
