A heroes welcome

Of the many spectacular shots taken in perfect conditions , including famous faces, this fairly ordinary image speaks to me of one of the many untold stories of the day. Bob is 74 and has completed the half ironman in 9 hrs 3 mins. The crew have the place pretty much cleaned up by this time, there were only 4 or 5 folk behind him, but here he is. He's a veteran of these events and did a full ironman in 2005. That would be 4 km swim, 180 km bike and a full length marathon. Today was a half.
His wife sat on the finish line for an hour or so making sure the photogapher would still be there to capture the moment.
