Tooth Fairy

Went to the dentist to sort out a disintegrated filling. Ended up getting the tooth extracted and presented to me in this little envelope. It's a beauty, I think. Complete with bloodied roots and mangled filling.

In some places, perhaps getting hold of a tooth like this would be a source of shamanistic power. Some atavistic urge makes it a source of interest and satisfaction to own it, having lost it yet somehow gained it, too. Leaving its trace as a current ache anda big gap to get used to.
