Hey hey, it’s the...

What a beezer day! It being lovely out there we headed off to see this Bondi Beach on the bus, out through some very attractive Victorian suburbs; there’s a nice vernacular style of architecture - small terraced houses with balconies upstairs and iron balustrades. Yes indeed.
So, to the beach - busy but not over busy - with people swimming and surfing. With no stinger suits! What larks we did have; our first proper swim since arriving.
And earlier, on the way out of the hotel we realised there was a pool! So once back we went up there to get our money’s worth. Though come five o’clock I headed off to find this Lord Nelson hotel as mentioned by Jaybroek with its in house brewery. Thronged with workers enjoying their Friday after work pint. I fitted right in.
Washed and into something suitable for there’s a reason we’re in Australia and it’s tonight! In Sydney! Yep, the Arctic Monkeys are in town. Since Tranquility Base came out last year I’ve found it hard to look past them, and I’d never seen them! I was interested to see how the new material would fit in as clearly Mr Turner has moved on but judging by his audience, most of them haven’t and don’t want to. It was easy for Bowie to kill off Ziggy and the rock stuff and come out with Low as an artist had the freedom to move on, but these days the money isn’t in albums, but rather in live shows so they have to keep kicking it out. It’s like the Beatles recording Sgt Pepper but still singing She Loves You to screaming adolescents. They need to face it - they’ve moved on; their new fans are older and more mature. More like their Dads. It’s what every boy really wants - the approval of their Dad. Alex, you’ve got mine.
