Sgwarnog: In the Field

Reunion

found again
in the snow
reunion

The first proper snow of the year, and even a light dusting effected a magical transformation. I always find sculptures great subjects in the snow, and Reunion is overdue a visit to this journal, as it's probably the most notable piece of public art on campus and in the city. It's the work of Josefina de Vasconcellos, and casts of this original have been placed in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral, at the Hiroshima Peace Park, at Stormont and at the Berlin Wall Memorial.

If a piece of art can be an ambassador of peace, this is it.
