out with the old . . .

. . . dock posts! They are using the hydraulics on the barge to pull them out. Dave is maneuvering where that hanging post is going with the stick. Very nice guys, Mark & Dave -I chatted with them for a while as I was taking photos. They are both really hard workers. Together they dragged all of the old posts, heavy with water up to their trailer by hand, to haul away. Almost all of the old dock posts are laying there on the barge in this photo - view larger. And, there is a pile of new posts on the lawn, ready to go in tomorrow. Soon we will have a dock!

Note 12/15/12: The water was too low in the river (because of the tides) yesterday to use the hydraulics on the barge to put the new dock posts in. Mark and Dave came & left, will not be back until Monday. It's going to take 3 or 4 days then to put in both the dock and the boat lift for Chelsea. I have decided to join the One Street project and use this river-way for my street, so you will see more!
