Changing Leith

Only a few doors apart, the changing face of Leith. Above, an empty shop and a nineteenth century tenement stair door. Below, a trendy modern bar, formerly The Bay Horse (a pub that operated under that name for at least eighty years). Since it closed its doors for the last time it has had two identities in twenty years. In the 1990s it was a Russian vodka bar, before the current Swedish owners opened it as Sofi's in 2005. one of several similar bars they now own.

Thoughts today are with the people of Newtown. The world grieves with them.
