Stinkhorn

Bit of a root about in the woods this afternoon and I came across this in a place where I have found them before, seems a bit late in the year.

It is a Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus) (for obvious reasons) I have blipped one before last August but it didn't have the green slime on it.

The slime usually attracts flies to spread the spores, there won't be many flies about in this cold weather which is another reason I think it is a bit late.

The woods never fail to turn up something new every time I go, things are changing all the time.
