Welcome

So the London Overground finally makes it all the way round down south. This is the first bit of new train line down here for quite a while. It's been open for about 30 hours, and I'm stuck on a platform waiting for one of its train, freezing any vestige and appendage you may care to name off. The lack of information as apparently shortly to arrive trains just disappear is utterly frustrating the increasing crowds of determined travellers.

The monotony is regularly (although only barely) broken by some astonishingly long goods trains rumbling through at slow speed. I cannot be the only one tempted to jump on one of the empty flatbeds in the hope that the train will take me somewhere, anywhere, away from this arctic platform.
