trust

The Carrick-a-rede rope bridge is a wonder. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. It spans 20 metres and is 30 metres above the rocks below. Suspended between the mainland and a rocky outcrop, it was first erected by salmon fishermen 350 years ago to access the rock and then on to fish. It is now part of the national Trust's legacy. It has hundreds of visitors every day, many who turn up only to turn back as the drop into the white foaming water below proves too much. This snap shows the moment when a young women freezes and cant move as the bridge begins to sway with the high wind. She is about to be rescued by the volunteer dressed in the high viz jacket. She had to trust him, listen to his calming voice guiding her to safety. She did. A lesson in trust before my eyes. We all need to trust someone, something. It is simply having faith in the strength of another.
