Monday: More Canyon

We were up pretty early so managed to get ahead of the curve in terms of crowds. To be honest, it isn't that bad if you're prepared to move outside the visitors' centre - it can just get a bit busy on the shuttle busses that ferry people around.

We headed for the furthest point at Hermit's Rest and then walked back along the Rim Trail. The views were amazing and, to be honest, there are no words that do it justice, so I won't even try. At various points, the trail took us really close to the edge - there were very few people around and, at times, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

We walked for about four hours, with various rests to admire the view.

After a bit of downtime, we headed out again in the evening to check out the changing colours of sunset. To think the sun has been rising and setting on this for 70 million years............

A couple more I liked in extras.
