Winter sun

How could we have done other than go out today? First stop: the market in Palafrugell, where we managed to buy a tiny Christmas tree, and some decorations to put on it. On the way home, we made a detour to Calella, and this is the view that met us when we arrived. We strolled along the promenade, stopping in a bar for a glass of wine and some patatas bravas. There were people sunbathing on the beach, and some brave souls even swam, though I noticed they didn't stay in very long (like, 30 seconds).

After dropping the shopping at home, we went out on a pinecone hunt (they're very useful for lighting the fire). Exploring on the hill above Begur, we came across another incredible view. I decided not to blip it on the grounds that no-one would believe I hadn't fiddled with the colours. It's just too blue!

Coming down, we passed by Sa Tuna and decided to stop. What a contrast to Calella. The whole village was shuttered and deserted, the only living souls two fishermen on the headland. Lovely as it is in summer, it's sad that what was once a real, working fishing village is now a summer-only resort that is abandoned the rest of the year.
