Planting Oaks

These were in memory of a member of the team who organised the community turbine for our village.  The lady died not long after the turbine was commissioned and the head of the team thought that it would be appropriate to instal something lasting and good.

So he bought two trees, Quercus Robur, I believe.  They will be beautiful when they've grown a little, although they'll need a fair amount of watering, it seems.  They weighed a lot, about 250kg, so there was quite some sweating and heaving, including banging in the support posts.

We retired to the nearest pub after all that effort; a couple of pints of Adnams Soutwold went down very well . . .
