Late afternoon on the beach

This morning Mr MC had his first opportunity to drive in USA when he and D went up to the north of the island to look up an old business acquaintance of D's, who was unfortunately out.  Never mind, driving mission was accomplished.  Later we all four set out for a visit to our friends' bank which was set in an astonishingly beautiful location.  After lunch (enormous portions) in the Blue Dolphin Cafe on Longshore Key, we set out for 'home'... when we ran into a huge traffic jam.  The problem was the barriers on the bridge between Longshore Key and Anna Maria Island had got stuck in the closed position.  After some 45 minutes, we got through, although the Spring Break traffic still made for slow progress. (Note to self: never come here during this week in March again)
Late afternoon we made it finally to the beach opposite our apartment, which is my blip for today.  We spent a lazy hour or so enjoying the last of the sunshine before getting ready to go out for dinner, easier said than done!  We had spotted an Indian restaurant yesterday, which we drove to, only to discover that it is closed on Mondays.  We eventually found an Italian restaurant which served portions so large that we've brought home boxes of the leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.
