Error-99

This was the welcoming-message of my month-old Canon 1000D.
It appears this is a non-specific error, which tells there is something wrong between the battery and the lens.
It can be a glitch, but often is an indication the camera must be serviced.

I recharged the battery (the bat. indication did show full battery) and since then didn't get the error, but 'm not happy about it.

Quite possible there is some bad connector inside, which manifests itself when the battery-voltage drops due to discharge. The connectors between the body and the lens are as clean as possible and I never used any non-Canon lens with electrical components inside. (the Lensbaby is non-Canon, but nothing electrical)
