Our Own Private Microclimate

I took this at 10:30 this morning, just before we headed downtown to do some errands. There was no snow downtown.

When we returned home at 12:30pm, there was not much additional accumulation. However, I just looked out the window (2:00pm), and it's snowing hard again, as it did this morning.

And it's still not snowing downtown.

(Our neighborhood is 650 feet /198 meters above sea level; downtown Bellingham is about 100 feet / 30.5 meters). Phil's blip shows an earlier view and some interesting tire tracks; he also has a link to a lovely mid-afternoon one with a surprising amount of color.)
