HAPPY BIRTHDAY G

Hello all,

Thank you all so much for your kind words, hearts and stars for yesterday, you are all very kind.  G is family, non-blood related but still family so it's just what you do for family.  Anyway he's much better today but we will continue to take it steady for a couple of days to be sure.

Today it was G's birthday, so after breakfast he opened cards and presents.  It's just as well he has us 'cos the only other card he got was from his brother.  It got me to wondering just how many people there are out there that don't have anyone at all.  I might have to look into how I can find out and maybe help support someone.

Anyway we went over to my Mum's in Morecambe and then onto The Walled Garden Restaurant at the Barton Grange Hotel just outside Preston for lunch.  The food was as good as for Mother's Day but not the atmosphere.  Sadly there were only a few diners and one large party in, so no Fabrizio to sing to us or table magician this time.  Still we had a thoroughly nice time and enjoyed our food.  The waitress was excellent.

After dropping Mum off and staying for a chat we eventually got home.  G wanted to watch a couple of his DVD's that he got.  How many of you will know of Ivanhoe starring Roger Moore??  Well I managed to acquire set of DVDs so we watched one episode.  Considering they were made in 1958 they weren't bad.  G was most chuffed anyway as he is a huge Saint fan and likes most things that Roger Moore has been in.  Then we watched an episode of an animated version of the Patrick Troughton Dr Who story The Macra Terror (being chased by giant crabs!!!).  Anyway it was all great fun and although the special effects are so much better now the storytelling isn't always as good and it's real family entertainment (just me being old fashioned really).

We then heard the tragic news of Sri Lanka - so our thoughts are with all those affected by these terrible events and has put a sadness onto the day.

Hope you are all well and enjoying the weather.  It's the time of year now when I stay indoors from midday to about  3 or 4 o'clock.  I can't take heat but like it like this when there's a bit of a breeze and indoors remains fairly cool, with all doors and windows open.

See you all tomorrow.
