A Day Worth Recording

One of the 'joys' of living in a B&B is that things that you don't normally have to think about come knocking at your door as soon as you have paying guests in the house.

Unexpectedly, the standard TV licence works for small guest houses (up to 15 rooms).

Then there's the Music licences.
One for hearing stuff.
One because the stuff you are hearing is recorded.

Then there's the film licences:
One for watching broadcast films on a TV if it's in a lounge.
One for watching a DVDs on a TV if it's in a lounge, and an entirely different one if the TV is in a bedroom - and it depends who owns the DVD...

Adds up to a few hundred quid each year.

Disposing of the need for one of these by disposing of the DVD library that no-one's actually used since we worked out exactly which licence we needed to have one.
