tracklements

Word of the day, definitely the year and possibly the century to date.
Was listening to a program on Radio National and one of the features was about tracklements.
A collective term for savoury condiments, (relish, chutney or pickle) served with meat, and used almost exclusively, though rarely, in Britain.
Today an early visit to the farmers market, and the jam and chutney stall had a great selection, though mainly chutneys, and our lady of the condiments was well impressed having never heard the word before.

So with Christmas almost upon us whether you enjoy a roasted ham, turkey, goose or even a turduken!, or maybe as friends here will do munch into duck tandoori or as we will do, a variety of seafood, there will surely be a tracklement somewhere on the table.
