It is Wednesday

We have come to love this mountain from all directions. Muckish Mountain, of Dalradian quartzite, has a distinctive flat topped shape that gave it its name - an Mhucais, meaning "the pig's back".

In the last century high-grade quartz sand was mined on the flanks of the mountain and the remains of the quarry workings can be seen on its northern side accessed by the The "Miner's Path”.
It was painted many times by James H Craig (died 1940s) see extra. His paintings are now well in excess of £4000 which makes mine exceptionally reasonable!!!
