South Island Robin

Low cloud quickly burned off to another scorching day.

Sadly we don't have the bird life of the past but we've heard or seen Grey Warblers, Tui, Bell Birds, Tom Tits and Robins. Today we were adopted a couple times by a South Island Robin. If you scratch the ground with your boot or walking pole they're likely to come close to investigate.

No views today, just a quizzical look from this little Robin. They're utterly delightful.

After 6 hours we emerged at Windy Point, our destination on Lewis Pass. Our driver was there with van, trailer, cold ginger beer and fresh muffins. I didn't care if they were gluten or not.

I'm craving fresh veges, a shower and oh, a flush loo would be nice ;-)

What a wonderful trip we've had.
