Lake reflections

Being that it is Boxing Day today, we decided it was time to go back to the Belair National Park, and see what we could find to blip. I decided to make it a scene of the beautiful lake in the park, as it missed out on being blipped from my many previous visits. See the ducks and much better reflections here.

This place is called Playford Lake, named after our longest serving state premier, Sir Thomas Playford. This park remains one of the few relatively undisturbed areas of native vegetation in the region, making it an important refuge for native animals and birds.

The park lies within the Adelaide Hills and Mitcham council area, and forms part of a chain of national park reserves located along the Adelaide Hills Face Zone. It is very close to the Brownhill Creek Conservation Park.

Other key areas of interest within the Belair National Park include Old Government House, and the park's Native Plants Nursery. All fodder for future blips!

There is a short walking trail around the Playford Lake, giving many different views of the lake, and the varied bird life. You quite often see koalas in the gums that ring the lake where incidentally no fishing is allowed.
