Mrs Young

Mrs Young was painted by Alan Ramsay (1713-1784)
She was the sister of Charles James Fox. He was a Whig Politician who had a reputation as a gambler and leader of the “Macaronis", a group of young men who copied the latest flamboyant French fashions.

Apparently, the yellow and blue colours of her costume is a visual reference to the Whig party colours.

A fine day enlivened by a group of lady members of Kirriemuir Golf Club.

After I guided them through the House, they popped a few champagne corks over their picnic in the garden and then played the Kingarrock Hickory Golf Course.
