Meconopsis grandii
Clive is justly proud of his Himalayan Poppies, which he grows from seed. He collects the seed from his plants as soon as it is ready and sows it for the coming year. Meconopsis grandii is a notoriously difficult plant to grow but Clive has almost perfect conditions, a light, well-drained soil close to water and shade.
Len, Basil and I have been visiting regularly in June each year since 2014. It's always a delight.
This year we had the added bonus of rain. Raindrops add a touch of magic to the flowers and leaves.
