Wet Poppies

We took the train to Nottingham today.  The Nature Valley Open tennis is on this week and we have tickets for the quarter finals tomorrow. Unfortunately  Nottingham has been under constant, relentless rain since the weekend, they only just managed to play a little tennis today, but must be well behind. The forecast for Thursday is not good either.

We're staying at the Premier Inn, opposite the Nottingham Trent University, and luckily is on the tram route to the tennis venue.  Plan B if it's rained off is to go to the D H Lawrence Birthday Museum at Eastwood.

This evening we met our friends Liz and Genny at a tapas bar in the city centre.  We had a great meal then retired to a bit quieter location, a nearby pub, for a drink and chat.  The rain was still lashing down when we left as it has been since we arrived, Nottingham is awash.

As we were walking to the hotel from the train station we passed this small cemetery.  The poppies looked a bit bedraggled in the rain but were bearing up!

Thanks to Miranda1008 for hosting Wild Flower Week and Cailleach for hosting Wild Wednesday.
