Banksia and Grrevillea

Two plants I noticed today, on the left is a Banksia and on the right a Grevillea.

Both are interesting looking and laden with honey which attracts birds and insects. They're very common all over Australia although these ones in Brisbane are quite different to the ones in Perth. The banksia nut is just what's left once the flower has died off, but it has its own particular style of wierd beauty.

Another lazy day today, but I'm not complaining :) This afternoon it poured with rain for a couple of hours and we had some thunder (which made me think of Jake and how much he would have been barking:). We all have iPhones and iPads so it was a laid back afternoon of chatting and doing things online.

Tonight, once the rain had stopped we walked to a local restaurant for tea. Very casual but easy and quite nice.

As we all stayed up very late night last night sitting around talking and drinking, everyone is feeling tired and so it's an early night for all.

I could live like this all the time, so stress freeeeeee!
