Big skies and red mountains.

The morning was glorious as we looked out over the chimney pots of Carlisle and after breakfast we loaded the car with bags, filled the tank with diesel and set off for Kinloch Rannoch.

There was quite a delay as we approached Edinburgh but things moved again as we crossed the new Queensferry bridge over the Firth of Forth.

After arriving at the accommodation we unloaded bags then drove into Pitlochry to get some supplies after getting a cup of tea and far too much cake at Hetties Tea Room.

On the return journey we stopped at the shore of Loch Rannoch where RF had left a piece of slate the year before in memory of David. I didn't think I could have got a nicer photo but as the sun set on Schiehallion opposite our balcony it caught fire and became stunning. Scotland is a truly beautiful country.
