Last week I blipped a sign in a nearby hotel dining room banning phones, tablets and laptops.

But most amazing is that when we went there again a few days ago we were told that in a month from now they will stop accepting payment for food and drink by any electronic means. No credit or debit cards or phone payments. Just plain old cash.

What an interesting social experiment. Will it lead to a complete loss of customers or will it build up a band of loyal diners who will choose to go there on principle?

We will continue to go and will report on the outcome.
