The Edge of the Wold

puddle wonderful

Another day of grey skies and rain, but Mr Sparrow was happy with his puddle bath.

On the home front it was another day making sure that Gus is settled into his new home. The last two nights he has slept through in his bed downstairs and we have not heard as much as a whimper. On his walks he is visibly more relaxed than he was, trotting and weaving with his nose two inches from the ground exploring a new and exciting scent world that we humans know nothing of. He becomes most animated when we leave Redhills Wood for the pastures around the Knott, rushing around with little joyous yelps. We think this must be the training and/or the instincts of a collie to work in open fields and country.

Tonight he made a new friend as Arnside Simon came round for a meal (a thank you for Bob-sitting when we were away over Christmas). All is well.
