Quiet Contemplation

It’s always a pleasure to visit Edinburgh with its strong literary and visual history.

I was reminded of this within minutes of arriving at Waverley station and I saw  this quote of Sir Walter Scott on one of the walls of the railway station. ( see extra photo).
" To enjoy leisure, it is absolutely necessary it should be preceded by occupation." Sir Walter Scott.

Then across the road to a major retrospective of one of Scotland’s best-known artists Victoria Crowe where three floors of the City Art centre are given over to her work.

The essence of her art  is one of quiet contemplation.
Now in her seventies, she shows no sign of slowing down.
