Louise Bridge in Winter

This bridge connects Kensington to downtown Calgary. It is named after the daughter of a former Calgary Mayor and is not to be confused with the Louise of Lake Louise.

Here you see the Bow almost completely frozen with Louise bridge looking as if it is about to be consumed by ice.

The lumpinesss on the surface is caused by the pressure of ice flowing down river. Water still runs underneath the ice.
