Fledged.

There is a small open barn where I work on Mondays and every year swallows nest in its rafters.

When I got to work today it looked as though the babies had just left the nests, there was some nervous flying and then landing in a neighbour's tree.

As the day went on they would fly around for a while then return to the barn to be fed and rest before repeating.

I feel very lucky to be able to see this activity whilst working. The was also a kestrel hunting over the wild flower meadow, a red kite gliding past and a Chinook thundering around.
