One year after...
...the forest fire that burned 3 km away from our house it looks like this. A rather depressing sight, seeing areas with the soil completely burned away and just bare rock left. Seen from this distance there is little regrowth so far. I'll have to cycle up there another day and see how it looks close up.
To take this picture I needed some clear air, without any haze. As a cold weather front moves by we often get these conditions. Another feature of cold fronts can be thunder storms. We had no thunder, and very little rain, but there were some spectacular dark clouds around, providing nice contrast with the sun-lit forest and the wind turbines.
Not much work done on the The Red House today but I did go to town and buy another load of wood, which should be enough to finish the job.
