That half time look...

I enjoy photographing rugby, both league and union. It seems such a sporting game, hard but fair, compared to football which seems a lesser game. It also helps that it is a fairly linear game, the action is coming, or going, for a period of time, making it a bit easier to follow the action with the camera. Footy can be all over the place!
Add a bit of mud, and a pleasing, low Winter sun, nicely lit the look on the face of this player as he took a moment when half time was called. A sporting portrait.
